We Remember

BENSLER, Peggy Ann

April 9, 1956 — September 28, 2026

Peggy Bensler passed away peacefully at home in Kelowna, B.C. on September 28, 2026. Born on April 9, 1956 in Calgary AB, Peggy lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Peggy was well loved by all who knew her. Whether she was curling, golfing, participating in her beloved bell choir, or lending a helping hand wherever it was needed, she brought warmth, energy, and enthusiasm to every aspect of her life. Her caring nature and willingness to take on any task in support of others left a lasting impression on friends, neighbours, and family alike.

Family was at the heart of everything Peggy did. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Harry, whom she married on June 6 1980 ; her daughters, Kimberly and Katherine; and her cherished grandson, Harlon. She is also survived by her mother, Yvonne; her sister, Nancy; and her brother, Richard.

Peggy met Harry while working at the Royal Bank in Langley, B.C. She embraced the opportunity to move to different cities across the country, and in each new place she found a community, formed lasting friendships, and made each place feel like home for her family. After retiring in Edmonton, Peggy and Harry moved to Kelowna in 2008, where they enjoyed many wonderful years surrounded by family and friends. Peggy also loved to travel. Together with family and friends they visited Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Central America, and U.S. including a number of trips to Hawaii where she especially enjoyed the beauty and ambience of the islands.

Peggy’s dedication to her bell choir, including three special Christmas performances with the Okanagan Symphony, brought joy to countless people over the years. The sound of bells ringing will forever serve as a reminder of her spirit, her generosity, and the happiness she shared with others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
