We Remember
STEINHAUER, Ronald Raymond “Ron”
October 18, 1945 — October 26, 2026
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a very special man, Ron Steinhauer.
Ron was born in Saskatchewan on October 18, 1945, and left us on October 26, 2026, in Kelowna General Hospital.
He is lovingly remembered by Marilyn, his best friend and wife of 54 years; his sister Doreen; nieces Pat and Laurica; nephews Greg, Ian, David, Dale and Richard; his brother-in-law John and his wife Blanche, their children David and Tracy and her family.
Ron was passionate about sports. Being originally from Saskatchewan, he remained an avid Roughriders fan. He faithfully watched his beloved Blue Jays, and he cheered for those Canucks through thick and thin.
He was not only a sports fan, but also an active participant. In his younger days, he played hockey, baseball, and fastball. But it was his love of curling, fishing, and golf that was most important to him during the majority of his adult life. And he did excel in all three. He was an active member of the Sunset Ranch golf community right up until his passing. He also took great pride in his yard and garden. Ron’s roses are a sight to behold.
He had a personality that shone so brightly. He made friends easily as people instinctively knew that he would be someone worthwhile knowing. He was such a kind and considerate man who always looked for the positive in any situation. He had the best attitude ever and tried to live his life to the fullest. He had a wicked sense of humor and was so quick with a comeback. Those who knew him will always remember his ever-ready smile and his infectious laugh. He was truly a joy to be around. He will be so missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., in the clubhouse at Sunset Ranch Golf Course, 5101 Upper Booth Road South.
