We Remember

BOYCZUK, Duncan Leslie

April 22, 1948 — January 10, 2026

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Duncan Boyczuk. With immense gratitude, we reflect on and celebrate who he was and the impact he had on the people around him.

For those of us lucky enough to know him, he will be remembered for his kindness, caring nature, strength of spirit, and quick wit.

In Heaven, he joins his mother Joan; father Victor; sister Christine and her husband Don; mother-in-law Venus; father-in-law Karl; sister-in-law Sharon and her husband Ken. On earth, he is forever loved by his wife Judy; daughters Carla and Tracey; son-in-law Richard; grandsons Nicholas, Mikail, Charlie, Anderson, and Ezekiel; granddaughter-in-law Megan; great-granddaughters Quinn and Wren; sister Paula and her husband Darrel; brother-in-law Rick and his wife Brenda; brother-in-law Jim; and many nieces and nephews.

On April 22, 1948, Duncan was born in Spring Valley, Saskatchewan. Known as the principal’s son, and for his love of cars, wild driving, and charismatic personality, he caught the eye of his future wife, Judy. They married in 1970 and moved to Kelowna in 1973. Married for 55 years, Duncan exemplified what it meant to be a husband, father, grandfather, and person.

He was a devout Catholic and an active member of the church community, including the Knights of Columbus. For the majority of his adult life, he worked at Protech Consultants, where he built not only a career but lasting friendships.

On January 10, 2026, he died of pneumonia. He passed surrounded by family, holding his hands, and praying.  It was a peaceful death worthy of a life well lived, and a man extremely loved.  We trust the Lord has welcomed him with open arms and has said  “Well done good and faithful servant”.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Foundation, are gratefully appreciated.

Duncan’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 am (PST), at St Charles Garnier at 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC.  For those who cannot attend in person, the service will be live-streamed (see below).
