We Remember

BUCKLEY, George P.
March 12, 1952 — January 7, 2018
On Sunday, January 7, 2018, at the age of 65 years, George Patrick Buckley passed away peacefully at Hospice in Kelowna, BC.
George was born in Dublin, Ireland to John and Jane Buckley (nee Condron). His family, including his younger brother John moved to Canada in 1954 where his sisters Deirdre and Maeve were born.
Throughout his life, George worked as an electrician in the film industry as well as on many industrial projects as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Above all else, George loved his family. Memories of him will be cherished by all members of his family, especially his loving son, Sean, his daughter-in-law, Paulette (nee Davidson) and his devoted grandchildren, Corbin and Teagan. He will also be lovingly remembered by his former wife Georgina Legare (nee Jennens); sister-in-law Noreen Buckley (John); brothers-in-law Cliff Penner (Deirdre) and Rick Adrian (Maeve); former brother-in-law Jake Voykin; and nephews Jim (Maureen) and Shane Buckley, Liam and Jack Voykin.
George enjoyed many laughs during his final weeks in the company of his family and dear friends Stuart Mac Moneagle and Daniel Berry.
A private family Celebration of Life will be held for George in the spring, his favourite time of year.
George’s family especially thank Dr. William Mackle and the staff of the Kelowna Hospice for their care and thoughtfulness throughout this difficult time. Memorial donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, www.hospicecoha.org.
