We Remember

CESNAITIS, Lydia Lee
January 7, 1992 — March 9, 2025
Born on a crisp winter day in Wenatchee, WA, Lydia Cesnaitis graced the world with her boundless warmth and left it far too soon on March 9, 2025, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 33.
She leaves behind her beloved partner of ten years, Jason, who never stopped making her laugh (or convincing her to play just one more round of golf). She is also survived by her loving in-laws, Shannon and Robert; her siblings, Katie (Max) with nephews Grant & Parker, Jen with nephew Marshall, and Kevin (Bobbi) with nieces Leah & Falen. And, of course, her most loyal four-legged companion, Stella, whom Lydia drove all the way to the Kootenays to bring home – because love like that knows no distance. She also leaves behind a constellation of friends and family who adored her.
Welcoming her with open arms on the other side are her parents, Linda and Al, whom she missed dearly.
Lydia was a spark – a whirlwind of laughter, kindness, and a perfectly timed punchline. Her green eyes flashed mischievously when she delivered a joke, and her dimples made sure you knew she was up to something delightful. She had a knack for making people feel at home, whether she was tending to everyone else’s needs before her own or making sure no one sat too far from the bonfire at the cabin.
Her creativity blossomed in the intricate Lego flowers she so carefully crafted, a reflection of the beauty she brought into the world. And while she might have put up a bit of a fight when Jason suggested a golf game, once she was out on the green, she couldn’t help but have a good time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association, Kelowna & District.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date – when the stars align, the fire is crackling, and laughter flows as easily as the stories we’ll tell about our dear Lydia.
