We Remember

CHAHAL, Jarnail Singh
April 1, 1945 — January 29, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Jarnail Singh Chahal passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on January 29, 2024.
Jarnail was born and raised in the village of Sanghwal, Punjab, India on April 1, 1945. He was a proud farmer and loved the work he did. He lived the majority of his life in India and immigrated to Canada on February 20, 2013, to live with his eldest daughter Gurmej and his grandchildren.
He lived a simple life. You would always find him in the backyard taking care of his garden and sitting under his favourite cherry tree, enjoying the sunshine when the weather was nice. He was a very humorous and jolly man, making everyone laugh, even in the toughest of times. He enjoyed it when family and friends came over to talk over a cup of tea, especially Jadvinder Nijjer. His love for travelling and visiting relatives brought him great joy. He had a passion for exploring and chatting with people who had been to the same areas. He wished to go back to India and Italy before he passed so he could visit his family again.
He will be deeply missed and remembered by his daughters and son-in-laws, Gurmej Kaur, Kamaljit Kaur (Manjit Singh), Rajwinder Kaur (Sarwan Singh), Manjit Kaur (Balkar Singh); his son and daughter-in-law, Gurmail Singh (Palvinder Kaur); his 12 grandchildren Sundeep, Jasnev, Taranjit, Kirandeep, Jaspal, Simranjit, Amitpal, Dilprit, Jasleen, Manjot, Harneet and Harnoor; his 2 great-grandchildren Yuvraj and Rajvir, and his extended family here in Canada and India.
