We Remember

            CHISHOLM, John
April 23, 1956 — October 30, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and great love that we announce the loss of John Chisholm, who passed away after a year-long illness on October 25, 2025, at the age of 69.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; daughters Kathleen (Chris) and Jenny (Rob); and grandchildren Hailey, Johnny, Annabelle, and Emma. John is also survived by his siblings Margaret, Helen, Nicky, Roy, and Robert; sister- and brother-in-law Gale and Herb; sister-in-law Kathy Yanke; and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lois Chisholm, and his brother-in-law Cecil Yanke.
John was born on April 23, 1956, at the Royal Canadian Air Force base in Chatham, New Brunswick. He spent his toddler years at the RCAF radar base in Mont Apica, Quebec, before returning to Chatham in 1959. In 1962, his family moved across the country to Kamloops, B.C.
John lived life to the fullest. He loved his weekly golf with his buddies Paul, Brad, and Gerry. He and Carol shared countless adventures together, enjoying downhill and cross-country skiing, running races – including two full marathons – golfing, fishing, and bowling. One of John’s favourite places was the family cabin at Seymour Arm, where he could often be found working on boat motors and whatever else needed fixing.
John restored a 1970 Chevy Nova SS he got from his brother-in-law Herb and his latest project was a 1968 Triumph Motorcycle he got from his brother Robert that he didn’t get to finish. John worked for many years as the Corporate Parts Manager at Great West Equipment. His role allowed him to travel extensively with his colleague and friend Paul, visiting places such as South Korea, Singapore, China, Japan, the United States, Italy, Germany, Holland, Austria, Slovenia, and Turkey.
Above all, John loved his family deeply. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. He will be remembered for his hard work, sense of humour, and love for life, and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Family and friends will each honour John in their own ways. No formal service will be held.
