We Remember
DECORBY, Leonard “Jig”
November 2, 1958 — May 7, 2025
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, on November 2, 1958, Leonard “Jig” Decorby rode into this world with the throttle open and a solid soundtrack in his heart, he cast his line deep into life. On May 7, 2025, at the age of 66, he left us, leaving behind a legacy as loud, loyal, and lasting as the motorcycle he loved.
Jig is survived by the love of his life, Patti, with whom he shared 20 rock-solid years of marriage; his sons, Tyler (Bree) and Landon (Leah), who carry his fierce spirit forward; and his granddaughter, Mya, who lit up his world. He also leaves behind his mother, Ora Decorby; two sisters and a brother; and a wide circle of friends and family who knew him as the one who always showed up when it mattered.
He was predeceased by his father, Maurice Decorby, whom he now joins – likely somewhere casting lines into cosmic waters.
Jig lived life full throttle, guided by three great loves: his motorbike, the stillness of fishing, and good food shared with better company. A great friend, he was opinionated in the best way, with a mind of his own and a heart twice as big. Whether it was fixing something with his hands or lending a hand without being asked, Jig gave of himself freely and fiercely. He was the guy who got there first when you needed help – and was the last to leave more often than not.
He leaves this world with his lures ready in the tackle box and his boots still dusty from the road. His memory will roar on in the hearts of those who loved him, because people like Jig don’t fade out. They echo.
