We Remember
DUSSAULT, Leonard
May 14, 1951 — October 22, 2025
With love, we announce the passing of Len Dussault on October 22nd, 2025, in Kelowna, B.C.
Len was born on Mother’s Day, May 14th 1951 in Prince Albert Sask. He was the 7th born of 11 children and grew up in Albertville Sask on the family farm up until a fire destroyed everything in February 1967. With the farm house gone, his parents and 5 children moved to Prince Albert Sask. After a short time there, they moved to Kamloops, B.C.. Len got a job within days and started working. Even at 18 years old, his work ethic was exceptional.
Len enjoyed nature, fishing and being outside, especially soaking up the sun any chance he had. He loved to socialize, tell jokes and listen to music, especially Rock and roll. “Bad moon rising” and “House of the Rising Sun” were a couple of his favourites. He made friends easily, was gifted academically and always worked hard. His sharp memory and ability to retain information gave him the upper hand in trivia games. He had a big sweet tooth and loved chocolates and cookies.
Unfortunately, in 2004 he sustained a brain aneurysm that left him permanently disabled, requiring full-time care in Kamloops. In 2018, he moved to Mountainview Village in Kelowna, B.C. where he was cared for until his passing.
Len was predeceased by his mother and father, Mathilda and Charles Dussault; sisters Emilie Fabian, Aline Meyer; and brothers-in-law Jim Fabian, Walter Jacobson, Harald Meyer, Al Olson, and Scott Innes.
He is survived by his son Jason (Diane) Dussault and two grandchildren Olivia and Ronin; as well as his siblings Donald (Louise) Dussault, Marie (Bob From) Jacobson, Henriette Olson, Madeleine (Albert) Payeur, Rosanne (Grant Scott) Reaney, Clem (Karen) Dussault, Yvette Innes, and Norm (Theresa) Dussault.
Len’s family extends deep gratitude to the staff at Mountainview Village for their kind and loving care throughout the years, especially providing dignity and peace to him in his final days. A huge thank you for all of the prayers. Len surrendered his life to Jesus a few months before his passing. It is a blessing to know that he is in Heaven with God.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the Spring of 2026. Details to be announced.
