We Remember
EAGLES, Beulah Mae
February 9, 1930 — December 30, 2025
After a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure, our dear mother, Beulah Mae Eagles, finally passed from this world into the glorious kingdom of heaven, early Tuesday morning, December 30, 2025. Thankfully, medication kept our mom from experiencing much pain, but she spent over a year mostly bedridden, with little or no energy for the things which normally would have given her much pleasure and joy. Despite her physical limitations, Interior Health’s very caring health care workers gave wonderful support during her last months at Okanagan Chateau, at Three Links Manor and at the Hospice House. They all repeatedly sang her praises — as one very special lady. The Spirit of God was so evident in Mom’s life in how she accepted her limitations gracefully, with a positive attitude, faith in the loving promises of her Lord, often with a playful sense of humour.
Beulah was born near the little village of Salisbury, New Brunswick, to Lena and Harvey Estabrooks and was the youngest of five older sisters and one older brother. After teaching several years, she married Nelson Palmer Eagles, also from the Salisbury area, and together they journeyed cross-country to British Columbia, where they built a full, loving life together for fifty-five years.
Nelson passed in 2007, but Beulah is survived by her four children: the youngest child, Roger Andrew (his wife Lisa, and children Brayden and Ashton and Ashton’s husband, Emre); Beulah’s oldest son, David Brent Nelson (his wife Carolyn, daughter Sarah Letourneau and husband Tyler Letourneau and great-grand-daughters, Amaya and Dylan); Beulah’s daughter Debi Harvey (her husband Mark Harvey and sons, Jordan and Nathan and his wife, Hannah. Beulah is also survived by her daughter Karen and her family: husband James, son Jonathan and son-in-law, Joey; and daughter Krista Carter, son-in-law Nathan Carter and great-granddaughters, Evelyn, Melissa, Amaya, and Dylan.
In reflecting back on her life and her legacy over the years, it is good to remember Beulah Mae (as she liked to be called in her last years) as one who poured well into the lives of children and their families. A teacher from the age of eighteen, she taught in a one-room school house, taught grade three and kindergarten, was the beloved teacher of her own Fairyland Nursery School in Surrey, B.C., and she led a dynamic early childhood Sunday School in Delta, B.C.. In their later years, she and her husband, Nels, established a Keenager Seniors’ Ministry at their church.
Beulah loved singing from an early age and passed her love for music to all of her children. In her senior years, she began a music group with sister Merle Robertson and brother Vince Estabrooks called the Okanagan Valley Singers. After her husband Nelson died in 2007, she realized her dream of publishing a lovely book about her life, love and legacy, afterward continuing her writing on her Seeds of Love blog (named after her book, and which is still to be found at www.beulaheagles@blogspot.com).
We, her family, are so proud of our Mom, Grandma, Great Gi-Gi, Mother-in-law and Friend, Beulah Mae’s legacy of love lives on.
We rise up and called her blessed!

Aunt Beulah was the person I considered to be my West Coast mom. She was always encouraging and supportive to me as I adjusted to being away from my own parents and siblings back in Ontario. Her heart and warmth was always on display for those of us that knew her or even met her for the first time. I enjoyed many delicious meals at her and Nelson’s table with my cousins who always welcomed me as one of their own even though I grew up back east. I will miss you dearly Beulah but believe I will see you again one day. Thanks for unmeasurable love!!!
My sincere condolences to Karen ,Debbie ,Roger and David and families on the passing oF Beulah ! !She was an amazing lady and we had spent many wonderful times together ! Beulah is now at peace > I am so happy for her . We all have lots of good memories to share !

Beulah and Nelson took me in as second parents in 1977 for 2 years while I attended BCIT. Our connection remained over the next 47 years as life progressed, changed and shared family connections kept us in contact from Surrey to Kelowna BC. Beulah was a magnificent testament to a life well lived. Full of love and compassion to all she met. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. My condolences and love to the entire Eagles family.
Springvalley Baptist church is where I met Beulah and her husband Nelson. They were the greeters of the church I ended up attending. They were so nice and welcomed me with open arms. My late Grandma Evelyn Pattison also joined and they had many coffees around her table. Very warm, kind people. My ex late husband Terry attended with our children Jenelle and Blake and all of us were welcomed. My condolences to Karen and family and Debbie and family..
Gordie’s youngest daughter here wishing to send the family and friends of Aunt Beulah my condolences for your loss. Even though I only saw Auntie a few times, she made an impression on me with her positive and inclusive acceptance. Someone with that big of a life of love leaves a painful void … But the memory of her godly influence will fill that void with thankful peace I believe, because you will see that influence everywhere. With joy and pride.
To her children, my cousins, I send my love and understanding in the weak moments when you feel like an orphan, when you feel homeless. The waves of such emotions will take you by surprise at the oddest times but when the tears subside you may find yourselves smiling for the memory. You have been raised well. You are blessed. Your lives honor them. I send you thanks and respect and love .
To The Family of Beulah Mae Eagles.
Beulah was a special person, loved everyone she met just as Jesus did. She was an inspiration to us all expressing God’s love. My sincere condolences to all of the family. Beulah will be greatly missed by all. Beulah was so understanding and you could tell her anything in confidence. God has a special place for Beulah as she finally joins Uncle Nelson in God’s Loving Grace.
Love to All and God Bless,
Bobby Eagles
