We Remember

ERDOS, Elizabeth
December 1, 1935 — May 23, 2025
It is with sadness and sorrow that we announce that Elizabeth Erdos (née Mezei) passed away the morning of May 23, 2025, at the age of 89. She was ready to leave this life and is now in a peaceful place.
Elizabeth was born in the Hungarian village of Skorenovac in the former Yugoslavia. She immigrated to Canada at the young age of 23 with 2 young children and her former husband. She was a loving, hard-working, single mother raising 2 daughters, Irena and Elizabeth, and 1 son, Timothy. She leaves behind her 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She worked at many different jobs: farm labor, sawmill work, waitress, restaurant work, seamstress, and lastly at KGH (Kelowna General Hospital) in the dietary department.
She was very proud of the homes in which she lived and owned. She had a great love of gardening, growing vegetables, beautiful roses and flowers. In her happier years she enjoyed dancing, cooking, hand embroidery, puzzling, and socializing. She loved to share her cabbage rolls, homemade bread, crescent rolls, and other baked goodies.
Mom is greatly missed, and we hold on to special memories of the past in our hearts.
At her request, there will not be a service. We will have a special day shared only with immediate family.
