We Remember
FIACCO, Ida
December 4, 1939 — November 25, 2025
Ida Fiacco, our beloved wife, mother, nonna (grandmother), bisnonna (great-grandmother), sister, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on December 4, 1939, in Frosinone, Italy, to her parents Raniero and Enrica Ferrante. She was the firstborn and soon became the eldest sibling to Domenic and Sandra.
Anyone acquainted with Ida knew how deeply she cared for the people in her life. She was gentle, kind, funny, wise, compassionate, and she shared her love generously with her family, friends, and even those she met only briefly. Her life was filled with gatherings because being with loved ones brought her the greatest happiness. Many evenings were spent at the kitchen table playing card games that always filled the home with laughter. We often found her cooking or baking; gardening; enjoying her favourite programs on the television; helping Benito with many projects he would have on the go; spending time with her grandchildren; or often on the phone, as she always enjoyed keeping in touch with the many people she had in her life.
Ida was predeceased by her parents Raniero and Enrica, and she is now reunited in heaven along with family members and friends. This warms our hearts to know they are together again.
Her greatest joy was her family. Ida leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Benito. Ida was his partner in every sense of the word – his “honeydew” as he called her. Ida will be lovingly remembered by her children, Angelo (Dawn) Fiacco and Teresa (David) Nobrega. Also left to mourn her loss are her 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Kimberly (Dusten), Nicole (James), and Michael (Ryatt), and her three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Owen, and Benny, who have all brought immense pride and joy.
A heartfelt thank-you to the care team at The Vineyard Residence in Kelowna, BC for their compassion and dedicated care for the past two years.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the MS Society of Canada, a reflection of her generous spirit.
