We Remember
FREW, Phyllis Beverly
June 23, 1937 — November 26, 2025
Phyllis Beverly Frew, 88, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in Kelowna, British Columbia, surrounded by the love of her family.
She is now with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus, joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Steve, and her two daughters, Rhonda and Raenelle.
Together, Steve and Phyllis shared 59 years of devoted marriage, during which they built a life firmly grounded in faith, love, and an unwavering commitment to family.
For more than six decades, Phyllis poured her heart into teaching, finding her greatest joy in reading to young children. Her gentle presence, boundless patience, and gift for making every child feel seen and valued left an indelible mark on countless lives.
Her devotion to children reflected the same strength, kindness, and quick wit that defined every part of her life. She balanced the demands of work and family with grace – truly a pioneer of her time.
In her later years, Phyllis embraced creative pursuits, most notably Victorian lampshade crafting, in which she was an unparalleled talent. Her artistry transformed fabric and light into timeless works of beauty, a reflection of the warmth and elegance she carried within.
Just as her creativity illuminated the lives of those around her, her faith shone even brighter. Phyllis’s love for her church family was profound. Within their fellowship, she found community, purpose, and enduring faith. Her legacy of compassion, humour, and steadfast belief will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is lovingly survived by her sons, Rod and Randal, and her grandchildren, Caitlin, Nadine, Joe, and Jeff – who will continue to cherish her memory and carry forward her legacy. She is also survived by her brother Rick, her sister Darlene, and her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
A celebration of Phyllis’s life, with Pastor Keith Whitaker officiating, will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm (PST), at Mission Creek Alliance Church, 2091 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. A reception will be held following the service. All who knew and loved her are warmly invited to attend.
She will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.

Phyllis and Steve were related to friends of ours from White Rock. When met Steve and Phyllis
through Steve’s relatives. Bev and Mick Van Zandt. We visited at their home in Sunset ranch.
Phyllis was very active doing crafts and part time teaching. Phyllis loved to do crafts and was very talented. It was nice knowing Phyllis and I did visit Phyllis in her home prior to her passing away.
Love Cliff and Sherrell Davidson
each other many times at Mission Creek Alliance. Phyllis lived a very full life and was very happy with her friends and activities. Now Phyllis is with our Lord and Saviour.
Sincerely
Sherrell Davidson
It is with sadness I write of our dear Auntie Phyllis’ passing and shall forever cherish the life long love, support, friendship and time spent as our “Auntie Phyllis & Uncle Steve and family” for over 80 years. My mom Norma and Auntie Phyll met as 4 year old girls in Haney, BC and grew up together, remaining friends their whole lives, through their wedding times, having children, and living long long years as friends. She loved fiercely, cherished times with anyone who crossed her path, and was full of life, warmth, caring, and compassion to all. I have so many memories of her to hold close to my heart forever, as the eldest of “her girls” as she called us. A very special angel is joining the others before her – and may all the family and friends who had the privilege of knowing her, keep her name and memory alive with thoughts of her often. With love, respect and deepest condolences, to Rod, Randal, and the family, from “Norma’s girls”.
