We Remember
GALLANT, Maureen Frances (née Cooper)
July 20, 1936 — February 11, 2026
It is with immense love and sadness that we announce the loss of Maureen Frances Gallant, who passed away while surrounded by family on February 11, 2026, at the age of 89.
Left to hold her dear to their hearts are those she loved most, including her children, Lynn (Rob) Pancino and Ken (Karen) Gallant, and grandchildren Aidan and Matthew.
Maureen was born on July 20, 1936, in Toronto, Ontario, to John and Cora Cooper. In her younger years, she held a variety of jobs that spoke to her versatility, adaptability, and strong work ethic. She was resilient and independent, with a quiet and shy nature that was balanced by a warm sense of humour and a genuine ability to connect with others. Whether through good conversation, shared laughter, or simply spending time together, Maureen had a way of making people feel comfortable and valued.
She found joy in simple and creative pleasures. As a young woman, she loved rollerskating, and throughout her life, she carried a deep love of music and dancing. She especially cherished teaching line dancing, something that brought her happiness and allowed her to share that joy with others. Maureen was also very crafty, enjoyed gardening and tending to her plants, and was an exceptional baker known for her delicious pies.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, and remembered for her quiet strength, creativity, and kind spirit.
Family and friends will each honour Maureen in their own ways. No formal service will be held.
