We Remember
HEISE, Craig Egon
August 18, 1967 — July 15, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Craig Heise – beloved father, son, brother, papa, uncle, and friend.
As gentle, patient, caring, and compassionate of a person as he could be, Craig always had a hug for anyone in need – everyone he met. His kindhearted character is the legacy he passes on to his family.
Craig was born August 18, 1967 in Kelowna, BC as the first son of Alwin and Brenda Heise. Alwin and Brenda moved to their forever-home 2 years later in December 69. It was here where Craig spent most of his days as a kid: playing in the pool, out front playing road hockey, or arguing and playing with his younger brother Darrin Heise. Craig graduated in 1985 at George Pringle Secondary with many friends he still kept in touch to this day. He then became a limo driver for Black Tie Limousine where he met Kelly Dodman, they had their first child on April 24, 1994: Zachary. Craig and Zachary lived in a house on Patterson Ave. for more than 20+ years, where Craig (in his free time and to help the house income) would time keep hockey for many organizations and leagues of hockey in the Okanagan. The Okanagan Valley was his home and his heart.
Craig was the proud father of Zachary Heise and grandfather to his only grandson, Jaxon Heise. He was big brother to his wonderful younger brother, Darrin Heise (Kristal Heise), and uncle to nephew and nieces, Brandon Heise, Alyssa Heise, and Courtney Henkel. Last but not least, Craig was son to his father Alwin Heise – whom he loved with his whole heart. Craig’s dedication to his family was evident in how he presented himself – by helping or doing what he could do in that moment. He stood by his family in every season of life.
Whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying time together, Craig made every moment count. His gentle wisdom, his caring heart, steady nature, and warm sense of humour will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 10:00 am (PDT), at Springfield Funeral Home (2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC), where those who loved Craig will gather to honour his life and legacy. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view in 3-5 days.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the tragic loss of Craig and although we know the day will ultimately come, the loss of a loved one at such a young age leaves us with indescribable grief. Words seem inadequate to express our sorrow but know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
I want to send condolences to the family … I wanted to visit Craig on the week of our grad reunion but he was not feeling up to a visit … I am so sad I did not give him a hug … I knew him I think from grade 2 … very caring and friendly man … I will miss him dearly
Sending our deepest condolences to the family. During this time of grief, may you find solace in the love and memories you shared with Craig. His spirit lives on in the lives he touched and will be missed by many.
You wrote a beautiful obituary, and truer words couldn’t have been spoken. I will always remember his kindness at my mom’s funeral.
Take care,
Linda King & Fred Stelzer
My condolences to his family at this time. I went to school with him. He was an awesome person. Always smiling. He was a good friend and will be missed by all that knew him.
Craig was the best friend anyone could have asked for, he was so loved by everyone he met! If you knew Craig, you knew of Oma, Opa, brother Darren , his proudest, his Son Zach, then to his grandson Jaxon. I have shed many tears since his passing, for the loss of my best friends, but for his son. The only thing I take comfort in now, he is not suffering any longer and his mama swooped in and gathered her baby son into her heavenly arms and took her boy home to her. I pray for the family.
Darrin, Alwin, and Zach,
My name is Les Andrew, I knew Craig from our time together at George Pringle and visited with him in recent years when i visited Kelowna. Craig was always a kind and thoughtful friend who always looked at the bright side. He was very proud of his family. I remember him being so happy showing me pictures of Jaxon. Craig did not have an easy life. His health being problematic, but he loved his family, he loved his hockey and he loved his friends. I am so sorry for your loss, May you find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace. He will watch over you with love.
