We Remember
HEMMETT, Marjorie
February 1, 1922 — January 24, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Marjorie Hemmett, who passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, at the age of 103.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2013. She will be missed by her children Rob (Pam), Ray (Patti), and Janyce (Ken); grandchildren Shannon (Jason), Cameron (Clarisse), Darryl (Juliya), Jeffrey, Colin (Marisa) and Conor (Reagan); great-grandchildren Liam and Mia; sister Irene; and beloved friend Jackie.
Born in Boharm, Saskatchewan and raised in Moose Jaw, where she met and married Bill in 1941. They moved to Kelowna in 1945 where they settled permanently and started their family. She worked for several years at the Kelowna Radiology Clinic.
Marjorie lived a long and wonderful life filled with travel, her glass of wine, and spending time with close friends. She was a loving mother and ‘Gram’ who had a wonderful sense of humour and loved to laugh. Her best days were golfing or curling with friends or spending the day with her grandchildren at the beach, mini golf, arcades or watching them play sports. Oh, how she loved being with her grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generous heart, and bright smile.
A small family celebration will be held at a later date.
