Condolences

  • Dale Stammen says:

So sorry to hear of the passing of Dirk. He was a wonderful man and a dad to many of us. I fondly remember the time I was at your family cabin helping install the new wood stove in the middle of winter. Dirk and I had to leave early to get back to Winnipeg. He had just bought a new car and strictly obeyed the new car instructions to drive no faster than 50 mph. It took us an extra long time to get back to the city, but the conversation was wonderful. He shared his love of organ music and the organs he had listened to over the years. To this day, I strive to go to an organ concert whenever I travel to a new place. Oh yeah, we also had to stop for pie at his favorite pie place on the way back to Winnipeg.

  • Tom and Shirley Cole says:

    Joanne, Peter and Family,
We are so sorry to hear of your dad’s passing. During our years in Kelowna, we became close friends who enjoyed many meals, with him and his beloved Ann at our home, or at favorite restaurants. We have very pleasant memories of numerous conversations, and detailed stories about life experiences. May family memories ease your sadness and sense of loss at this difficult time. Please accept our deepest sympathy.
    Blessings,
    Tom and Shirley
