We Remember

IULIANO, Enrichetta “Erica”
July 21, 1946 — April 15, 2025
Enrichetta “Erica” Iuliano peacefully departed this world on April 15, 2025, in Kelowna, British Columbia.
Erica was born and raised in the small Italian town of San Giacomo di Cerzeto. She spent her adult life in Calgary, Alberta, where she met and married Ercole Iuliano. Their time together was spent building their family and their restaurant. Erica was affectionately known as “Mama Erica” as she fed Calgarians for many years at Ercole’s Ristorante Italiano on 16th Ave NE. Generosity, love, strength, and resiliency were her strongest attributes and were most prominently displayed with the early loss of her husband, Ercole. She persevered and continued to run her restaurant and to raise her two children, Leontina Gaspari (née Iuliano) and Luigi Iuliano.
Nonna Erica, as so many have lovingly called her, will be immensely missed. She was the heart and home to which we all gathered. A place to receive warm hugs and full tummies. She was a provider of purse snacks, a ready hand for playing Scopa and Donkey, a personal chef to each and every grandchild, not only a seamstress to our closets but also the thread that sewed our family together. Sunday dinners were always filled with smiles and laughter.
Erica leaves behind her daughter Leontina, her son-in-law Gary, and their children, Joseph, Nina, and Alexandra. She also leaves behind her son, Luigi, her daughter-in-law Caren, and their daughters, Liliana and Arabella. Erica’s loss will also be greatly felt by her older brother, Peter Esposito and her younger sister, Pasqualina Tirri and their families. Erica is also survived by many nephews, nieces, their children, and other extended family members in both Canada and Italy.
Final farewells to Erica can be made on SATURDAY, APRIL 19, 2025, from 6-8 PM, at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
Erica will be shortly reunited with Ercole, in Calgary in the upcoming days as they will rest together in peace.
