We Remember

            JOHNSON, James Allan
August 5, 1954 — October 22, 2025
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, James “Jim” Allan Johnson, who left us surrounded by his loving family at home on October 22, 2025.
Jim was born on August 5, 1954, in New Westminster, BC, to his predeceased parents, Allan “Al” and Mildred “Millie” Johnson. He was the oldest brother to Terry Johnson (Donna).
A Life of Dedication and Passion
Jim was the devoted husband of 33 years to his soulmate, Treasure Johnson. Together, they blended and built a beautiful life and legacy with their children: Blake (Selena), Lisa (Todd), Justin (Tiffany), Brooklyn (Dylan), Tyson, and Brendan (Christen). Jim was predeceased by his son, Danny. He was the deeply proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A natural and exceptional athlete throughout his younger years, Jim excelled at football, hockey, and baseball, even playing for the New Westminster Bruins hockey team. Yet, it was the baseball field that truly captured his heart. It was his sanctuary—his happy place. All who knew him understood the pure joy he found there, whether he was stepping up to the plate, dedicating his time to coaching, or simply enjoying the rhythm of the game.
Jim’s energy and creativity also shone through his lifelong love of music. He was an amazing drummer and played in a band in his youth.
The Open Road and Cherished Memories
Professionally, Jim worked as a dedicated truck driver for the family business, Johnson Trucking, and as a Land Developer. However, his second great passion was classic vintage cars. This love was sparked at a young age by his own father, an avid collector. Jim was a walking encyclopedia of these vehicles, cherishing every moment spent sharing stories, history, and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts. As an active member of the Vancouver Classic Car Club, he enjoyed countless car tours and group events.
After being transferred to West Kelowna to work on a land development project, Jim and Treasure enjoyed many new adventures together in the Okanagan. He quickly became a beloved and familiar face in his community, sharing countless stories and building lasting friendships.
Jim’s imprint of love, laughter, and deep passion for family and life will forever live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
When we picture him now, the image is perfect: he’s behind the wheel of his most treasured car, his 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible, with the top down, the sun on his face, and his favourite AC/DC song blaring.
He will be dearly missed by all.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
