We Remember
KEARNEY, Rebecca Jo “Becca”
February 15, 1989 — November 7, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce our sweet Rebecca has passed away peacefully at the young age of 36 in Kelowna. We know she is flying with the angels and has joined her grandparents in Heaven, but for those of us left behind, we will miss her dearly.
She was a shining light in so many people’s lives. She helped everyone she could. She helped those who no one else would have helped. She was loved by everyone who she met in the most positive ways.
She put others first, always. She was an intelligent, beautiful woman who was a master chef in her kitchen, a poet, a singer, a painter, and someone who was full of hope, dreams, and a wonderful imagination.
Rebecca is survived by her children Makenzie and Nolan who Rebecca loves more than anything.
Please join us for her Celebration of Life so we can all share in the wonderful moments we have all had with our Rebecca.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 3:00 pm, at Dormition of the Mother of God Ukrainian Catholic Parish, 1091 Coronation Avenue, Kelowna, BC.

Sometimes you meet people who will impact your life and make a difference and that was Becca for me. Our connection was more like a big sister relationship and hearing she has passed has crushed me. Forever young and missed by many, I will never forget you Becca or the memories we shared <3
In Memory of Rebecca Kearney from Ann-Lise Norman and on behalf of Jane, Micheal and Michelle Norman as well as my partner, James Horne.
Rebecca’s sweet smile, laughing eyes and forward – looking disposition was what I recall so fondly from the very first time we met. It was at my nephew Ben Norman’s home in Kelowna and Becca’s engaging brown eyes and glorious mane were so memorable when she was just around 17. She was such a happy and loving sweetheart to Ben. We connected again during my many visits to Kelowna over the years, and meeting, and seeing MaKenzie and Nolan as babies and again as they matured was just about as joyous as it can get. Rebecca was lovely with my Mum, the kid’s Nana-Nana, visiting very often, as Mum was confined to a Care Home near where she and Ben lived for a time. As the years passed, tears began to well up in Rebecca’s heart, as is understandable in a world more full of wonder and pain, than we can ever fathom. We are so thankful for the kids having such a great Mum as Rebecca, all the good food she conjured from scratch and the fun she and the kids shared. There was always much laughter, even in the sad times. We loved her, though at times she felt the need to maintain a distance, and will miss her. It is with a sore heart that we reach out with condolences to all who knew and loved her, and of course to MaKenzie and Nolan. Love to you all.
