We Remember
KOROLOW, Anatol “Toly” Peter
July 14, 1951 — February 21, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of Anatol (Toly) Korolow in his 75th year on February 21, 2026 at Kelowna Hospice with his wife Bonnie at his side. After 9 years of complex health issues, he is now at peace and free from pain and suffering.
He now goes to join those who passed before him, including his parents Peter & Anna Korolow, sister Ria (Bignucolo), and brother Walter.
Survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years Bonnie (Rostad); son Tobias of Canmore, AB and daughter Tanya (Justin Fitzpatrick) of Niagara Falls, ON. He is also survived by brother-in-law Joe Bignucolo; nephews Todd and Ryan and their families; and sister-in-law Paulette Rostad. He will be fondly remembered by many dear friends, neighbours, and former co-workers,
Toly was born on July 14, 1951 in Belgium, and came to Canada as an infant with his parents. They settled in Sudbury and eventually in a rural area near Dowling where he lived his childhood exploring the outdoors on the family acreage. When he was just 25 years of age, he built the first home he, Bonnie, and their two children lived in across the field from his parents. He enjoyed a career of 36 years with Bell Canada in Construction, Engineering and Expertech.
Following retirement in 2007, Toly and Bonnie moved from Ontario to Kelowna, BC. He spent his time renovating their home in Kelowna, volunteering in the Strata community and as an usher at Kelowna Rockets hockey games. He was a friend to many residents (particularly anyone that required a tool of some sort) because they knew Toly the “tool man” would probably have the tool and lend a helping hand. He was an avid music lover, collector, played guitar, painted artwork, and was also known for his great culinary skills. He and Bonnie loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations and cruises.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the many physicians and various health care workers that have been involved in his care over the past several years, especially Dr. A. Bryce.
In keeping with Toly’s wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Springfield Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Toly’s memory to Kelowna General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.

We are sending our sincere, heartfelt condolences to Bonnie. Tanya, and Tobias. Toly was truly a gentle, friendly giant who was loved by many. We were so fortunate to have known Toly over the years and grateful that we re-connected. We will miss this wonderful man.
My sincere condolences to you Bonnie and to your family.
We met Bonnie and Toly and their children as their next door neighbours in Newmarket, Ontario. We enjoyed many years of neighborly friendship and social occasions, usually around a bbq, with Toly and George showing their culinary expertise. When the Korolow’s moved to Kelowna, and we moved to Calgary, we continued the friendship by visiting each other on occasion. Toly’s presence at his home in Kelowna will be greatly missed when we visit next. A very kind, soft spoken gentleman, you will be missed Toly, but we are thankful for our memories. With love. ❤️
Thoughts and prayers to Bonnie and the family….Toly will be remembered as quiet man, and friend to all..
