We Remember

KRISHER, Leonora Marilynn
December 24, 1949 — April 17, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Leonora “Lynn” on April 17, 2025. She was at Hospice House Kelowna with her dear partner Jim at her side. Lynn was born in Victoria, BC on December 24, 1949.
After a recent diagnosis of cancer, Lynn fought a brave and courageous battle to the end. She was not one to allow this inconvenience to hamper her efforts to continue to do what needed to be done – she was able to get her ducks in a row and organize her death while still living; she was a remarkable human – self-reliant, independent, and determined to face adversity, as she had in the past.
Lynn’s life was not always easy, but she was able to face her setbacks with hard work, grace, and resilience. No self-pity for this woman, despite her experience with suffering – life moved forward, and so did Lynn.
In Lynn’s last days on this earth, she was able to still derive peace and solace – as she was able from her bed: she could see her beautiful back garden that brought her so much pleasure with the backdrop of the hills, the sky, her bird houses, and she could watch nature change each day before her eyes.
One of Lynn’s passions was to travel. Although the opportunity did not always present itself, she still had many fond memories of time spent in Hawaii, Mexico, and several places in Europe (she was able to experience the wonders of France, Germany, Austria, and Great Britain).
Another one of Lynn’s loves was definitely camping on Vancouver Island and the interior of BC. This was a time to feel at peace and enjoy what nature had to offer. In Lynn’s earlier days, she and her family made a life altering move from Victoria to Smithers, BC. They located themselves on 160 acres of farmland and remained there for 29 years raising her family – although it was challenging, it was rewarding. Meanwhile – back at the ranch, Lynn made a decision to upgrade her skills; she went back to school and created a new life for herself with a career as court registry with the municipality of Smithers.
Lynn leaves behind her loyal and long time partner Jim and a beautiful blended family: Lynn’s sons Trever, Travis, and Troy; Jim’s daughters, Jennifer, Julie, and Jill and son, Jesse; as well as her twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Lynn also leaves her sister, Carroll; brother Alan; and stepbrother, Rod; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Sadly, she was predeceased by her young son Clifford and her brothers Joe and Bill.
A big shout-out and heartfelt thank-you to the hospice team. Their kindness, compassion, and care know no bounds.
No service as per Lynn’s request.
