We Remember

KRUPER, Geraldine Jean “Gerri”

September 19, 1943 — February 21, 2026

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Geraldine Jean Kruper on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Kelowna, British Columbia.

She passed away peacefully at the age of 82 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gerri was born on September 19, 1943.

She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, William “Bill” Kruper, her mother Bertha, father Robert, sister Valerie, and brother Virgil.

She leaves behind her stepchildren; Daryl (Brenda), Brad (Lorraine), Jeff, and Deena (Marcel); her grand-children, Kathryn (Mike), Lauren (Aubrey), Rachelle (Travis), Aysha (Shannon), Kristen (Blake), and Ryan (Hannah); her great-grandchildren, Joey, Griffin, Scarlett, Grey, Isabella, Blair, Summer, Eve, and Autumn.

She also leaves behind her nephew (Gordon) and niece (Lisa)

Gerri was not a person to sit idle. She played competitive pool; not socially, but properly. She was very creative with her canvas paintings and decorating. She collected coins from all over the world from a young age into her later years. She and Bill travelled to the United States as snowbirds for the winters, they also managed the Newmar motorhome club. Their summers were spent at Lake Country “Holiday Park” where they maintained their primary residence for over 40 years.  Gerri looked forward to the annual family summer vacation visits with her step kids, grand-children and great-grand children.

She volunteered her time at the Holiday Park Resort the sort of involvement that keeps neighborhoods running smoothly.

Her working life was very industrious. She spent many years with AGT, dedicated as a manager in customer service; an occupation requiring patience, clarity, and organization. She worked alongside Bill at ADCO Power, managing the Yellowknife branch for many years. Nothing at the ADCO Yellowknife office moved without Gerri knowing about it.

And then there was Spencer, her African Grey parrot. Spencer was a very important part of her life and became a travel companion for both Bill and Gerri.

The world is quieter without her, though somewhere, one suspects, she is already organizing things. She will be dearly missed.

Memorial Donations in memory of Gerri may be sent to Hospice House Kelowna (Central Okanagan Hospice House).

A Celebration of Life, with her family officiating, will be held on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 2026, at 3:30 PM (PST), at HOLIDAY PARK RESORT (Pool Hall) on Commonwealth Road, Kelowna, BC.
