MacDONALD, Donald C. “Mac”
February 13, 1928 — February 27, 2026
Donald C. “Mac” MacDonald passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on February 13, 1928, Mac lived a long, full life marked by hard work, adventure, and deep devotion to his family.
Mac was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mabel June MacDonald, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: George MacDonald (Jeff Seville), Helen Jennens (Stu Jennens), Lori Ellerby (Dallas Ellerby), and Thomas MacDonald (Sonya MacDonald).
He was a proud grandfather to Celina Wold (Shaun Wold), Dallan Ellerby, the late Rian Leinweber, the late Tyler Leinweber, Tyson Ellerby, Brie Turcotte (Errol Milsom) Dane Ellerby (Erin Ellerby), Madison MacDonald (Blair Cunningham), Cameron MacDonald (Janine Wolpert), and Diego Murrietta.
Mac was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Mac, Talay, Ella, Ryland, Gracyn, Huxley, Ryker, Henley, Bryden, Hayes, Eazy, and Beau.
Dad’s love of family was further extended to his step grandchildren and their children, Sherri Jennens, Brad Jennens, Corry Feore, and Jason Jennens.
A devoted husband and father, Mac was also an entrepreneur. In dealings with Pharmacy, Real Estate and Ski area development, (Akloo) Photography, and Attorney Support Service. His work ethic and determination set an example for all who knew him. Outside of work, he embraced life fully. He found joy in fishing quiet waters, golfing with friends, and skiing down mountain slopes, music, and playing the violin. Whether outdoors or gathered around the family table, he was happiest surrounded by those he loved.
Mac’s greatest pride was his family. His steady presence, generous spirit, and sense of humor will be deeply missed and forever remembered. He was truly loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
His legacy lives on in the strong, loving family he built and the countless memories they will carry forward.
The family would like to thank the countless folks that offered their care and kindness to Mac. His physicians, the staff at Hospice House, our cousins, Pam (Jeff) Eppler, Cath (Rod) Faust, Bill (Francine) Miller, and Jane Miller. The visits from his friends and Priest were invaluable and so appreciated by Dad and all of us.
A service for both Mom and Dad will be planned for a later date. Details to be announced.
