We Remember
MACKLIN, Patrick (Pat) Terry
February 26, 1955 — August 20, 2025
With deep love and sadness, the family of Pat Macklin announces his passing on August 20, 2025, in Kelowna, BC, surrounded by family.
He is survived by his partner, Willy (Wilma) Preissl; son Dean (Misty); grandchildren Jaida and Drayden; sisters Marilynn, Cheryl, and Shelley; and many extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Myrtle; daughter Darla; son Darren; and sister Kathleen.
Pat was a charismatic soul, known for his ability to “do anything, be anything,” and for his sense of humour. He was particular in the best of ways—especially when it came to cleanliness—proudly running a “tight ship.” Even in his final days, his thoughtful and organized nature shone through, ensuring that everything was in place so those he loved wouldn’t need to worry.
The outdoors was where Pat felt most alive. He loved hunting, camping, and cutting wood, especially over the last 14 years spent with his partner, Willy. Together, they embraced nature, adventure, and the simple joy of sharing an ice-cold beer after a hard day’s work. Pat often declared, with a grin, “We are on another caper…”—words that perfectly captured his adventurous spirit and approach to life.
