We Remember
MASKALL, Stephen A.
August 1, 1938 — March 10, 2026
Stephen Andrew Maskall, D.C., D.A.C.B.R., F.C.C.R. (retired), of Grand Forks, B.C., peacefully left this life on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, to be reunited with his beloved wife, Sonia. He was 87 years of age and leaves behind daughters, Autumn and Aurora.
Born on August 1, 1938, in Vancouver, B.C., to Stephen and Lena Maskall, Stephen was active in his church while growing up in the lower mainland, where he also enjoyed outdoor and social activities. In 1960, Stephen graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario, and practised in B.C. until 2015. He was a Diplomat of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology, a Fellow of the Chiropractic College of Radiologists (Canada), and a long-standing member of the B.C. Chiropractic Association, as well as a consulting radiologist and published author.
While in Toronto, he met his future wife, Sonia, at a church dance. They shared 62 happy years together; the majority of which were spent in Grand Forks, B.C., where Stephen served the community as a doctor of chiropractic. In his spare time, Stephen enjoyed dancing, fly fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was also a member of the Grand Forks Rotary Club for decades, as he enjoyed the camaraderie and Rotary’s commitment to service.
Stephen and Sonia were soul mates who loved to entertain and had a broad and diverse cross-section of valued friends. They loved to travel and spent many years making memories while traveling together.
Stephen touched countless lives with his warmth, kindness, and humor. The imprint Stephen leaves upon the hearts of his friends and loved ones remains eternally vivid – a testament to the depth of his spirit.
The family would like to thank the medical health care teams at Hardy View and the hospital for the support, understanding, and kindness they provided to Stephen during his stay.
There will be a Private Graveside Service for Stephen for immediate family on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 2850 Dry Valley Rd in Kelowna. Father Chad Pawlyshyn will be presiding, with Interment to follow.
