We Remember
MERRYWEATHER, Andrew Robert
July 1, 1961 — October 23, 2025
Andrew was born on July 1, 1961, in England and passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Kelowna, BC surrounded by his family. He was sixty-four. He is survived by his wife Tracy; his children, Brittney Merryweather (Sasha Orenstein), Michelle (Julio) Robinson; stepchildren Adam Juulsen (Joy Siscar), and Ava Juulsen (Sarah Nelson); grandchildren, Landen and Dominic Robinson; as well as his brother, Ian Merryweather; his former wife Jeryl; and many who loved him as family.
Andrew loved the road. He rode his Harley through mountains and long stretches of open land, chasing adventure and new destinations. He loved food that spoke of home and satisfied hunger. Sunday dinners were a feast when his children were growing up and always important for the family. He cooked Chinese dishes that could have come from the old streets of Asia, and no one thought to order out. At the barbecue, he was a craftsman; steak – seared just enough, resting in its own silence before the first bite. His recipes were the envy of friends and family, and he created a cookbook of his favourites to share with family. He loved to entertain and showcase his culinary talents. He was a true craftsman in the kitchen and was famous for his Yorkshire puddings.
He loved to travel in BC as well as abroad. Many fond memories were made of trips to England, Italy, Greece, Peru, and others. He loved hockey, the Canucks, and always wore his Canucks’ jersey to watch the game. He loved to play golf with his tight circle of friends and would cherish their weekends away golfing. He embraced the outdoors on foot, on seadoos, or by siteseeing. He was skilled at creating gourmet meals when camping and loved a good BBQ outside. Hiking became a passion, with many trips to Golden Ears Park, Manning Park, St Mark’s Peak, and snowshoeing off the Coquilhalla, and others. He had a passion for helicopters, and he was a mechanic as well as a pilot. Those flights took him to many destinations in Canada, and he always shared fond memories of the sights and places many people never get to see.
He loved music that filled the air, classic rock that spoke of youth, freedom, and fire, and he danced like a man who knew that joy was meant to be shared. He loved his daughters passionately and always supported and encouraged them in whatever endeavours they pursued. He was so proud of the women that they became and the lives they were creating for themselves.
He lived as he rode: steady, sure, and alive to the moment. The wind in his face, the sun in his eyes, and the roar of his Harley made him feel alive and grateful for all the opportunities he had.
Goodbye Andrew, you are greatly missed. We shall meet again.
