We Remember

NAKATA, Mitsugu (Mike)
—
Mike (Mitsugu) Nakata passed away on December 29, 2019. He is survived by Joyce, his wife of 40 years. Mike was born and raised in the Westbank community, the son of an orchard farmer. He was a carpenter for his entire career and enjoyed woodworking projects in his retirement, happily spending hours in his fully outfitted workshop. Besides woodwork, he had a great love of the outdoors, especially if it included a fishing hole in the middle of the backwoods. He will be sorely missed by his friends and neighbors, wife and puppy children. My deepest sympathies Joyce. I have such fond memories of hours spent with Mike either out fly fishing or marveling at his many talents while he helped Pat and I with construction or concrete projects. His knowledge and expertise were only surpassed by his huge heart and genuine willingness to help and support others. I remember so fondly the time we spent with you and Mike enjoying a dinner together or working around the acreage. He was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed by those who loved and admired him.
