We Remember

PAGE, Richard Innes

January 22, 1930 — March 6, 2026

Richard Page passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 96.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Fay Page, to whom he was married for over 56 years; his son David and daughter-in-law Brenda; as well as extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by both parents, his two brothers and his sister.

Born in Devonport, England to the late James & Winifred Page, Richard grew up there until he joined the Royal Navy, which took him to many places around the globe. He served with numerous branches of the Armed Forces until he was discharged. His adventurous spirit didn’t let him stay settled for long; Richard, along with two buddies, boarded a boat bound for America in the ’60s. That plan didn’t pan out, since Vancouver, BC, called to Richard and ended up being the place where he properly settled.

While there, Richard met Fay and it was destiny; they married in 1970 and built a relationship that would last a lifetime.  It wasn’t long before their little family of two became a family of three, and in 1973 they decided to move to the Okanagan to raise their son David.

In Kelowna, BC, Richard found work as a cable technician . It was work that suited him and he continued in the trade until his retirement from Shaw.  After hours, Richard was a volunteer as a Leader with Scouts Canada, helping shape the lives of young people in the region. It was a great fit given how much Richard enjoyed fishing and camping throughout his lifetime. He was also an avid member of the CB Radio Club in Kelowna, a talent he continued from his military days.  But of all the things Richard enjoyed, nothing surpassed being with his family, that was when he was the most content.

Richard will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank Linda Howika for her unwavering support and for always being there when needed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his honour to: BC Cancer – Kelowna – Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior.
