We Remember

PAULSON, Judy Ann (née Burton)

November 17, 1953 — June 22, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Ann Paulson, who passed away peacefully, and surrounded by family on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the age of 71, in Kelowna, British Columbia.

Judy was born on November 17, 1953 in Sussex, New Brunswick to Delmer and Rosalie Burton. She grew up in Sussex as the middle child of 4 girls and 1 boy. She went on to become a laboratory technician, where she worked for many years at the IWK children’s hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Judy was known for her kind spirit, infectious smile, laugh, and for always making those around her feel welcome and loved. She was an incredible wife and best friend to her husband Allan; mother to her son Ian; mother-in-law to Angie; and grandmother to Dani.

Judy had many passions. She loved to quilt and spend time with friends, watch Ian play sports growing up, as well playing host to his friends. She also loved to make great memories through travel with family and friends, often enjoying a glass of wine, or a great meal with those she loved. In her later years, nothing brought her more joy than spending time with or looking at pictures and videos of her granddaughter Dani.

Judy is lovingly remembered by her husband Allan; son Ian (Angie); granddaughter Dani; her sisters Sharon, Connie, and Kathy, Brother Andrew; and by many nieces, nephews, and friends. She is predeceased by her mother Rosalie and father Delmer.

Two Celebrations of Life will be held for Judy; one in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the other in Kelowna, BC — dates and locations to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, in Judy’s memory.

Although she left us too soon, Judy’s warmth, love, spirit, as well as the lessons she taught us will remain in our hearts forever.
