We Remember
PERREAULT, Gordon Douglas Jr.
May 2, 2007 — January 24, 2026
On January 24, 2026, Gordon Douglas Perreault Jr.’s life ended suddenly and tragically at the age of 18 years old.
His absence has left a powerful and painful silence that echoes in the hearts and minds of everyone he met.
Junior was truly a profound young man; he was a connector and a protector. He had a presence so strong that when he came into a room, his magnetic smile didn’t just light up the room, it warmed people’s hearts and was an invitation that said “you are welcome here!”.
This young man had an old soul and possessed the gift of uplifting everyone by making them feel and see that they were all unique and mattered. Junior validated that by making them feel seen and heard, he taught people how to love themselves by showing them how much they mattered. His heart had no borders, he wanted everyone to be a part of fun and didn’t mind being that person to include ones left on the sidelines.
Through his walk in life, he saw that survival wasn’t all about strength. In the troubling parts of life, he took away a lesson from those experiences and focused on clarity. With a quiet and humbling determination, he quoted “I refuse to give up, even when no one can see me”. He knew where his priorities laid and set goals for himself. A daily writer of his own quotes and mantras, this young man instilled hope in folks he met.
Junior had a beautiful presence, and he captivated the hearts of those he knew. His loyalty was fierce, was protective, was loved harder than most, intelligent and witty sense of humour, and was always looking to find a solution to problems.
He was the beloved son of his mother Jacquie Nicole and Father Gordon Perreault. In the past couple of years, he had been rebuilding this relationship with his mom and dad. This relationship he shared with them was a close and deeply meaningful bond built on truth, love, growth, and deep connection. Gordy was to be moving out to the Lower Mainland at the beginning of February to be with his sister Ulahny, step-dad Christian, and mom Jacquie, and continuing to build and strengthen those connections. In March, he was going to go adventure in Saskatchewan and see his dad Gord and connect with his brothers and sister: Ashton, Payton, Joshua, and Hayden.
Junior Gordy was also lovingly raised by Shannon and Miklos Lepey who selflessly stepped up into the role of Mom and Dad for the earlier years of his life when he needed this nurturing foundation. They played a very important and significant role in shaping the young man he became. He grew up being treated as one of their own and was surrounded by family. His cousin Elijah, otherwise known as his brother, shared many big adventures and moments that only brothers could speak to and chuckle about. Grandpa Huey and Uncle Ryan were equally important and invested in his upbringing, and will forever be remembered for these times. Whether it be going to the ice cream shop, going for a rip in Grandpa’s convertible, to go fishing and listening to oldies with Uncle Ryan. This family dynamic provided him with a lot of guidance, love, from many directions and that village that they created, mattered. He was provided a nurturing environment and blessed with many opportunities. He was brought up in a home of firefighters and members of the family who are very community oriented. He loved being out in the woods, longboarding, fishing, rock picking, snowboarding, and being out in the bush on grand adventures. He had many friends and teachers and members of the community of Beaverdell who came together and created a safe home and space not only for Gordy and Elijah but all the children there. What an amazing community.
Junior leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever carry him with them. His auntie Tessie provided him with a home until he finished school because school was his #1 priority. He was super supportive and helped by assisting in tidying up the house, though, his auntie did get a chuckle because there are numerous piles swept, but no dust pan! He left 18 piles of leaves and sticks in her yard, his last chore he did for his auntie. But, he did it.
He leaves behind siblings: Ashton, Payton, Joshua, Hayden, Jake, Ulahny, Greja, and Andrew; aunties Shannon and Tammy; and cousins Randy and Elijah. He will also be dearly missed by Tessie, Rinell, and Jollisa, as well as his numerous cousins in the family. Junior was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Glen.
His family and school family will miss him dearly. He was cherished, protected, and loved more than he may have ever realized. Junior’s life ended suddenly and tragically, but his story does not end there. You will be remembered for your spirit, strength, humour, and the way you loved people. You left us all with a big lesson. You are a legacy.
“Mom, everyone has gifts within themselves, they just gotta love themselves first, to see them.”

My cuzo — although we didn’t spend a lot of time together before this tragedy… We had amazing talks. I wish I was able to show you a lot more of the Okanagan. I wish you came to my barbeque that day we planned it. I wish you were able to meet my son. I’m glad I got to help you find one of your first friends, Lennox. Thank you for confiding in me and trusting me with your feelings. You’re a warrior, kid, and everybody’s proud to have known you. Rest easy, cousin. See ya see ya!
Condolences to Jacquie, Gord, Nikita, Shannon and all the family. Love you, guys.
