We Remember
PILON, Anne
October 12, 1926 — January 17, 2026
Anne was born on October 12, 1926, in Limerick, Sask. and passed away January 17, 2026, at Springvalley Care Centre with her family by her side.
Anne married Paul Pilon on February 21, 1944, in Limerick, Sask., they lived in Gravelbourg, Sask. where Gloria, Dennis, and Diane were born. In 1948, they moved to BC and eventually ended up in Prince George where Linda, Camille, and Brad were born.
In the summer of 1961, they moved their family to Kelowna, BC to start a new life close to Anne’s mother, sister Helen (Cec) and brother Joe (Mary) Gregory and their families.
A hard-working mother raising her family, Anne also worked at the Hudsons Bay as a salesclerk; taught Catechism; was a devoted member and President of the CWL; prepared countless Sunday breakfasts for the congregation; read at Sunday Mass; and was a participant at the Perpetual Adoration Chapel. Anne served as a “Brown Owl” for many years, teaching and guiding Brownies, she also volunteered at the Cottonwoods Gift Shop.
Anne loved the game of Bridge, most evenings were spent playing with Cec and Helen, Bjornson’s, family and friends.
Once Anne was introduced to Duplicate Bridge, it became her passion which she so enjoyed with her daughters, and all her playing partners. Anne and Diane won the Canadian Championship and went to Albuquerque to compete in the World finals – a very cherished memory. Anne was a respected and “feared opponent” at Duplicate, and she enjoyed revisiting her accomplishments later in life.
When Anne could no longer drive to church, she attended daily Mass, first with Bishop Cooney and later with Father Jim at Wedgewood where she lived.
Anne never stopped being involved, after moving to Springvalley Care Center in March 2024, she enjoyed participating in the daily activities and was a positive asset to them all. How blessed was she to have a family Priest – Father Wayne (her nephew) – bring her communion every week at the retirement home. Anne was a devout Catholic.
Always a card player, she amazingly played Gin Rummy very well until the last couple of months. She loved playing crib or just hanging out with her granddaughter Kim.
She always said, “You guys found the best place for me”.
Anne leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.
Anne was a loving mother to her children, Gloria (Ron), Dennis (Phyllis), Diane, Linda (Bob), Camille (Al), and Brad (Pam); her grandchildren, Lisa, Coli, Gerry, Dan, Kimberley, Tricia, Connie, Tracy, Brent, Keith, Marcie, Shane, Terry, and Michael; and by 23 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and four great-great-great-grandchildren. Anne was predeceased by her husband, Paul, in 1989 and her daughter, Gloria, in 2014, her parents Anna and Joseph Gregory and her siblings Joe Gregory, Mary Pfliger, Helen Pfliger, Al Hurley, Johnny Gregory.
