Irene, our deepest sympathy to you and your family. We are deeply saddened to hear that Bardy passed. We only got the news the day before the service or we would have travelled out to Kelowna to be there.
We had our spring trip delayed to our son’s store but was planning to call Bardy this week to see how the week of June 11 was for you guys. We last talked after I retired in mid March and he had invited us to stop over when we came to Kelowna the next time.
He was always fun to be around, worked hard and was just a great friend to have. His last advice to me was to retire and I am glad I listened.
If you want to get to back to us with your number we can call you when we are in Kelowna if you are up for a coffee.

Take care Irene.
Dear Irene,
I am so saddened to hear the news of Bardy’s passing. I fondly recall seeing you and Bardy at his sister’s lovely wedding anniversary celebration a few years ago. My mom and I had a chance to catch up with Bardy. True to form, he was as joyful, kind, and full of life as ever – always bringing that uplifting energy that made him so easy to be around.
There’s a song that always brings Bardy to mind: “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi. I can picture a group of us at a party in Rocanville, that song playing in the background, some of us singing along and enjoying the moment. Now, whenever I hear it, I think of Bardy – and the others – during those carefree times. That lyric, “We’ve got each other and that’s a lot,” has stayed with me, and I hope it’s a reminder that you’re surrounded by many people who care deeply and are holding you close in their hearts.
Sending my heartfelt condolences to you, Rebecca, and Taylor.
Warmly,
Michelle Olson
