We Remember
ROBERTS, Barry Randel “Randy”
December 1, 1952 — February 15, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Randy Roberts, who passed away on February 15, 2025, at the age of 72.
Left to hold him dear to their hearts are those he loved most, including his son, Jordan, and his older brothers Wayne and Bob.
He now goes to join his Mom and Dad; stepdad Les; his sister, Heather; and brother, Chris, who passed before him.
Randy was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, the fourth child of Ada and Erwin Roberts. Randy welcomed a younger brother, Chris, after his mom married his stepdad, Les.
From a young age, Randy was passionate about music, hockey, and technology. He taught himself to play the guitar at age 13. With his younger brother, Randy recorded music in his home studio in Montreal, and continued to play and record privately until his passing. He also played Junior-B and Junior-A level hockey as a young adult, which, according to him, would’ve led into the NHL if his parents didn’t move out of Montreal into the suburbs.
Venturing west to BC in 1982, Randy continued his love of music at home and while playing for his local church. Professionally, Randy worked for many years as the IT Manager for SRI Homes Inc. where he retired in 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Randy’s honour. Details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the David Suzuki Foundation.
