We Remember

ROSSI, Bruno

Bruno Rossi went to be with the Lord on August 6, 2020, at the age of 67.  Bruno was a beloved husband, father, and a dear friend to many.  He was passionate about his students throughout his teaching career.  He loved sports of all kinds, whether playing, coaching, or simply being a spectator.  He enjoyed travelling, and visited his friends and family in Italy (where his parents were from) on several occasions.  He was a volunteer with the RCMP Community Policing in Kelowna as well as a member (including past president and treasurer) of the Kelowna Bocce Club for several years.  He joined a bowling team with some of his friends for the past few years.  Bruno, much like his mother, enjoyed spending time in his garden, scouring the local farmers market for the best produce and meats, and cooking Sunday dinners for his family.  His love and passion for Christ overflowed into everything he did.

He is survived by his loving wife Janet and daughter Rachel, as well as several cousins and other family members both in Ontario and Italy.  He is predeceased by his parents Mario and Margherita Rossi.  A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held, however, due to the current pandemic restrictions it will be by invitation only.  The family would like to invite all who would like to pay their respects to join by Livestream on Friday, August 21, 2020, at 1:00pm PDT. To view a Livestream of the service please click on the link below.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the KGH Foundation, www.kghfoundation.com, or your favorite charity of choice are welcomed and appreciated by the family.  Cherished memories, photos, and online condolences may be sent to the family by scrolling down the page to the area called “Condolences”.

  • John and Janice Kosnik says:

Janet and Rachel, our hearts and prayers are with you for your tremendous loss.
Bruno was my best friend during our childhood and teen years. We grew up in Windsor and lived two doors apart. We played sports together and our favourite was street hockey. Using his innovative skills, Bruno stacked empty grape boxes to make nets. When he scored, he made sure the boxes fell down to ensure the neighbours appreciated his goal!
We maintained contact over the years sharing stories and laughs. Bruno was a kind and great man. Rachel, you made him the proudest dad!
God bless you my dear friend.
Bruno P.S. …. Make sure that you let the angels win once in awhile!

  • James McGill says:

My deepest sympathies to the entire Rossi family and friends. Bruno was very influential & supportive in my life as our Pastor (and friend) when I was just in my early 20’s . Bruno didn’t just say words- he actually cared and always made a difference- He was the very essence of what A Christian is- ” Christ Like” – I still have the book he gave me and signed about trusting In God to succeed in life -on the day I graduated from The OPP Police College – Pastor Bruno and his wisdom and kindness has helped me on many occasions in my now 30th year in Policing in Ontario. Thank You Pastor Bruno- I know you are in the Saviors arms.
    James McGill

Janet, I am so sorry to read about Bruno’s passing. I have such fond memories of the Meadowvale church. Bruno was a great leader and had a smile that lit up the room. It sounds like after you moved out west, he was still a great leader and involved in many things. I’m sure his passing leaves a very big hole in your’s and Rachel’s lives. I am thinking of you and praying for you may God help you comfort you at this time.

  • Bruce Hildebrandt says:

I remember playing volleyball with Bruno and Rachel. .(Teasing grade eight Rachel as she fixed her hair between rallies.) I remember many baseball, and golf games. I remember Bruno and I walking through the new arena under construction, choosing our Rockets seasons tickets. I remember our yearly Kamloops road trips, and coffee times together. I remember so many things about this wonderful friend and man of God. Each of these memories are now treasured moments that I was allowed to share with Bruno. Bruno enjoyed life. He loved to laugh. He found the good in everything and everyone. I rarely heard him complain, whether about work, or politics or his golf game. He consistently talked about the faithfulness of God in His life. Bruno was a man who motivated his friends to be their best. He loved Jesus and his family with all his heart. I am heartbroken at the loss of my friend. I will always treasure this man and my memories of our times together. May God fill your minds with memories that bring you joy and laughter and fill your hearts with warmth.

  • Diann Turkington says:
