We Remember
RUSSO, Geno
November 17, 1988 — January 23, 2026
The family of Geno Russo is deeply saddened to announce the news of his sudden passing on January 23, 2026, at the age of 37.
He leaves behind his son Sean Russo; parents Orlando and Wendy Russo; brothers Michael (Courtney) Margeson and Ray (Kim) Russo; sister Misty Russo; nieces Jaedyn, Aubrie and Athena; nephew Jarrett; and Nana Ida Russo. Mourning with them are aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention; especially Sean’s mother Cerise Ratte and members of the Musqueam Band who share a bond of family and community that cannot be broken – including his five siblings Sean, Nicholas, Suzanne, Nicole and William. He was predeceased by his 1st mother, Linda Grant.
We pray that, as he embarks upon this new journey, he is embraced in the loving arms of those who have gone ahead. We rest assured that his Nono Guerino Russo, his maternal grandparents, and all his ancestors are waiting for him.
Geno was a kind and generous soul who welcomed strangers like they were old friends, and treated friends like dearest family. He took everyone into his heart and home; shared everything he had without hesitation.
Geno’s passion was food. A cook by trade, but also cooking for friends and family at every opportunity. He shared his passion with Sean, passing on his skills and sharing endless happy hours in the kitchen. Sean was his whole world.

I’m going to miss all the fun times and his huge smile. He was so full of life and made the best food lol and clearly as you can see, he definitely loved his food!
I met Geno when I moved up here from my home town in Prince George. He not only was my brother but he was my best friend he perfected me as I’m in a wheelchair. He and I hung out all the time. He made me smile. I wish I could have been at his funeral, yesterday but I’m in hospital so I can’t. Geno, I love you, bro. Rest in peace. I will miss you, a lot. I was wondering if I could get pictures for memories of Geno, please.

I loved this kind sould, and I broke bread with this man, many a good times over eating, during many of our sittings together with and with out friends, present
Love you, Geno, I will miss you, But I will spread the stories, (truthful ones)
My condolences to the Russo family. Geno was part of my family as well, and always will be. Thank you Geno for being such a great father to Sean and teaching him all of your cooking skills. Sean has always said he wanted to grow up and cook beside his dad when he got older. He will cherish those memories, as we all will. We love you so much and will miss you forever. Until we meet again my friend.
Before my Dearest Friend and Brother Geno Russo passed he was struggling with being alone. I tried to be the best friend I could be to him. Trying to give him hope in a life without pain and loneliness he was telling me his desperation to bounce back from the Despair of his life. I wish there was more I could’ve done to help him. He was a Beautiful Soul and he was full of joy and love. His life was established in Greatness to me and so many others. My unawareness of his Memorial was heartbreaking because I wanted to be there for him. I hope his Beautiful Soul and Spirit is reclaimed by the Heavens. He made profound impact to my life in Kelowna. He was never a judgemental person and he love and felt deeply. My best memory of him was being accepted into his life as his friend and brother. He cared for me when I struggled. He was a Man of Great love and Hope. I will always remember you Geno Russo. Kelowna won’t be the same without you. I love you now and always my dear Brother. May your Spirit soar into the Highest Of Heavens. Farewell Brother.
My most sincere condolences to your family. I recently heard of Geno”s passing. I have fond memories of Geno in my culinary class, he was always enthusiastic and worked well with others. Let us keep special memories of Geno with us. My heartfelt sympathy to the family.
