We Remember

SIMMONS, Sevanah Kathleen Burke
—
Sevanah passed away September 4, 2015 in the loving arms of her Mother and Father after a brave and graceful fight with brainstem cancer (DIPG). Sevanah is survived by her parents, Angelina and Christopher; her paternal grandparents, Carolyn and Scott; Uncle Alex; Auntie Melissa and Uncle Matt; Uncle Jonathan and Auntie Amy; Uncle Nathanael and Auntie Megan (Mikayla and Levi); Uncle Wesley; Uncle Timothy; her beloved Auntie Elisha-Joy; Papa; and many more family members and friends.
Although Sevanah was only with us for a short time, she filled our lives with such joy and happiness. Sevanah loved people and always made sure to make everyone one of her beautiful homemade gifts. Her sense of humour was often expressed through her beloved “Monkey Crew.” Sevanah’s love for her monkeys was only outshone by her love for the Lord which she proclaimed until her last breath. “The joy of the Lord is my strength” Nehemiah 8:10

To all those that knew and loved Sevanah,
May the Lord wrap His loving arms of comfort around you during this time. As the Grad Counsellor for HCOS, I did not have an opportunity to work with Sevanah but do know that those that did were blessed by her. I send my deepest sympathy and please know you are in my prayers.
Sue Savard
We are very sorry for the passing of such a sweet little girl, but know that God has her with him in good care until we all meet again. May God keep you and make his face shine upon you in your time of grieving. God is our strength and refuge, a very present help in time of need… of that we can be sure. Our deepest sympathy to your family.
Angelina, I wish there were words to ease your grief. Please accept my deepest condolences. I send you all my love, as one of my own. Sevanah has a special place in my memory and heart. I remember the story of a tiny Sevanah coming out and seeing her first snowfall and saying “Uh Oh.” She thought someone had made a BIG mess. I remember her putting her arms around Layla and holding her so tenderly for so long the last time I saw them together. Those are but two of the things of the delightful spirit of Sevanah, humour and love. May you rest in peace little one. (Y.O.M.)
Please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss… My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Christopher and Angelina:
Our deepest, heartfelt sympathy to you and your families for such a tragic loss of your precious daughter, She will always be in your hearts. There are no words to comfort or ease your grief but take solace in your faith and know that for her short life the joy she brought you
You are both in my thoughts and prayers
“The Lord is near to the broken-hearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

Our deepest condolences to you and your family Chris…We cannot even imagine the pain of your loss. Know that Sevanah is in such a good place and wrapped in the arms of Jesus. It is your faith in knowing this that will carry you through this very turbulent time.
Angelina…please know that you are in my thoughts…the few times I met Sevanah it was clear how sweet she was. Her time with you has been rich with love. She made a wonderful difference in your life and I hope those memories, in time, will comfort you. Sending you a warm hug and strength in these difficult days.
Dear Ange,
I am so very incredibly sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful and sweet girl, just like her mom. I can’t even imagine Ange.
