We Remember

STOLIKER, David Ceabern

January 30, 1943 — September 7, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, David Ceabern Stoliker, who departed this life on September 7th, 2025, at the age of 82.

David Ceabern Stoliker, started his journey on earth, January 30th 1943, with the help of his parents Hazel and Harold Allen Stoliker, in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a child, David dreamed of becoming a cowboy. Wearing his hat and boots in style; he roamed the fields of Chilliwack, British Columbia, alongside his brother/partner in crime Irvin Wesley Stoliker.

David was the devoted husband of Betty Jean Stoliker, and a proud father to Cindy Ann Rottenfusser and Lisa Kathleen Dommasch. He was a cherished grandfather to Travis, Stephanie, Alysha, Jacob, Jesse, Jordan, and Johnathan.

David was a true angel on earth, known for his selfless love, boundless kindness, joyful smile and a laugh that could light up any room. His heart of gold touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

A devout Christian, David lived his life as a shining example of faith, humility, and generosity.

David began working at a very young age, mowing lawns for just 25 cents; a testament to his early work ethic and dedication. After moving to Kelowna with his family, he started working in a tire shop alongside “the boys.” Over the years, David worked hard in various trades, including for the Canadian Pacific Railway, owning and operating his own automotive repair shop, and serving as a proud representative of Union #280, advocating for workers across the East and West Kootenays.

Later in life, he joined forces with his brother, to co-own a family cuisine restaurant, where hospitality and heart were served with every meal.

David was always there to lend a helping hand; whether it was automotive repairs, home building, or simply showing up when someone needed him. One phone call was all it took; he never hesitated to answer.

David’s life was a masterclass in love, service, and unwavering faith. His impact on those around him will continue to echo through the lives he touched and the values he lived by.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me,
but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
2 Timothy 4, 7-8

Forever in our hearts, until we meet again.

Words & Wisdom from David Stoliker: “It’s important for us to love one another. Do not ever look down on somebody, because we are all the same at the end of the day. Make sure you laugh, eat good food, and be happy; that’s what life’s about.”
