We Remember

TACSKOVICS, Alexi
January 19, 2006 — September 13, 2025
Born on January 19, 2006, Alexi Tacskovics passed on September 13, 2025, at the age of 19.
Alexi was a beautiful, sweet, and kind soul living in a world and time that is not so easy. He was handsome, creative, and a deep thinker. He wanted a meaningful life with true connections and was walking towards that path. He was passionate about his drawing, snowboarding, skating, the gym, and his family. In recent writings, we learned that he had compassion and concerns regarding the housing crisis in Canada, and he was planning to be a voice for change.
Alexi had struggles during these past couple of years, but he was stable and seeking. He had transformed from an edgy teenager into a compassionate and kind young man. He was excited about his future and about being a bright light.
On September 13, after work, Alexi went to his room to settle into his usual routine and made a fatal choice to use a fentanyl laced substance. We do not know how long this was going on, but in our hearts feel as though it was new to him. Ironically, he was into healthy eating and spiritual thinking. He was at the gym most days, and he never skipped the chance to give a hug or express love to his family. It hurts to share the reasons for this tragic end when Alexi was everything more than this choice but he wanted to make a difference in this world and he would have wanted me to be transparent in light of his hope to make an impact.
Alexi will be deeply missed by his twin brother, two older brothers, mother, father, grandparents, extended family, and friends. May he rest in peace and be a spirit guide to all.
Donations to support his family through bereavement or to the Foundry Kelowna are preferred over flowers.

With heartfelt condolences to the family, though Alexi and I haven’t talked in years we had been friends throughout Middle School. I will forever reminisce on the times spent together with our group just messing around and having fun. Someone so special can never be forgotten.
Alexi… you were truly one of a kind. You definitely made me earn your trust in those first few weeks of grade 8.. You brought energy and laughter to our classroom. My snack budget double.year because it was the only way I could convince you to do your work There were definitely days that you tried my patience and my catchphrase became, stop, touching each other – grade 8 boys. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of getting to know you . My heart goes out to Damon and the rest of your family. Hugs to you all ❤️
