We Remember
THEBERGE, Carol Joan (nee Winchcombe)
July 18, 1935 — March 6, 2026
It is with profound, heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our mom, Carol Joan Theberge. She fought so hard to stay with us…always wanting to “see what happens next.” Our resilient mom made it all the way to 90 – a miracle given her family history. After months enduring severe pain, she closed her eyes for the last time with her daughters – Joanne and Linda – holding her hand in the early morning of March 6, 2026, in Kelowna, British Columbia.
Mom was a force – determined to do life her way. She was unique and fiercely loved and was so proud of her family. So many challenges were thrown in front of her all her life, but she made it through this life by sheer will. Her daughters – Tina, Joanne, Wendy, Cheryl (deceased), and Linda – were her WHOLE reason for breathing. We are feeling a seismic hole in our family and are already missing her with our whole hearts. It’s hard to believe she won’t be on the other end of the phone any longer – always upbeat and excited to hear about all the mundane things that happened in our days.
Her love of all things sugar. Watching crime shows and classic movies late into the night. Winning at her beloved bingo. Checking every bill to the penny. Watching her enjoy – and devour – a plate of fish ‘n chips. Agonizing over what gifts to buy for her grandchildren and us.
We are so grateful for the memories and the endless “mom stories.” We will always keep her with us in our hearts and hear her voice guiding us – saying things like: “That’s ridiculous!”; “I can’t believe they are charging that!”; “Do it this way!” Truth be told, Mom was actually right most of the time.
Carol single-handedly shaped her girls into pretty cool, resilient, self-sufficient women. Thank you, Mom. No one will ever love us more than you have.
She is survived by her daughters Tina Theberge (son Tyler), Joanne Theberge (sons Kurtis and Kyle MacDonald), Wendy Theberge (daughters Charly and Cameron Blais), and Linda Theberge (daughters Megan and Jamie Theberge).
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

I was so fortunate to meet your dear Mom. She was a joy to be around. She will be missed terribly and you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
