We Remember

TODD, Joseph Henry
October 17, 1961 — January 20, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Henry Todd on January 20, 2024, at the age of 62 years, in Kelowna, BC. Joseph was born in 1961 in Toronto, Ontario. He relocated to Hickson, ON in 1970 and attended Huron Park Highschool in Woodstock, ON.
Joseph joined the Military Armed Forces in 1980 as an ammunition specialist and was retired in 2000 as a Master Corporal. While there, he learned to strip a tank down and put it back together, which, if you knew Joseph, was something very much up his alley. During this time, he lived and served in Germany, Australia, and Maui, where he cleaned up buried bombs on one of the Hawaiian islands.
Joseph enjoyed RC planes and was quite known for his love of putting together models, playing video games, and his vast interest in all things astronomy/space related.
Joseph was predeceased by his father Robert James Todd (d. 1992); his mother Shirley Patricia (Cole) Todd (d. 2013); sister-in-law Cheryl Hendershott; and brother-in-law Barry Kaufman. He is survived by his husband Preston Carmichael; Vincent Todd (Loretta); Valerie Hughes (Jim); John Todd (Jackie); Wally Todd (Paula); Gilbert Todd (Jenn); and Stacy Kaufman (Bob); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Joseph, we love you very much, and we will miss you forever, until we meet again.
Family and friends will honour him, each in their own way. No formal service will be held.
If you wish to send a condolence, post photos, or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
Love you more than anything and miss you so much. Until we meet again. xoxo <3
Joe, you have always lived the way you wanted, and because of that you were able to travel through the army and after you retired. You met some amazing guys, who love and miss you. You have a huge family that truly misses you also. You are forever in our thoughts and hearts. I love you. I hope you gave Mom and Dad a huge hug.
