We Remember

WACHTER, Dale Allan

June 14, 1941 — November 2, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dale Wachter announces his passing on November 2, 2025, at the age of 84.

Dale was born on June 14, 1941, in Edmonton, Alberta, to Claud and Lillian Wachter. He grew up with a deep sense of adventure and kindness—qualities that defined his life. Dale proudly served in the Canadian military and was a member of the Canadian Peace Corps, completing service in the Belgian Congo, an experience that shaped his lifelong commitment to helping others.

Since 1973, Dale called Kelowna home. Always happy and outgoing, he quickly became a familiar and cherished presence in the community. As an unofficial ambassador of the Okanagan Château, he organized games and activities, bringing joy, laughter, and friendship to everyone around him.

A devoted volunteer, Dale gave his time generously to Diabetes Canada and Project Literacy, causes that reflected his caring spirit and desire to make a difference.

Dale will be lovingly remembered by his children Jeffery (Liisa) and Jason (Debby); grandchildren Chelsey (Tyler), Caitlyn (Alex), Joline, Lauryn, Donavan (Nikki), Tyson (Mikki), and Logan; and great-grandchildren Naomi, Sarah, Everlee, Charlie, Audrey, Oliver, Julia, and Max.

He was predeceased by his parents Claud and Lillian Wachter, brother Lorne Wachter, and sister Shanon Clasper.

Dale will be remembered for his love of family BBQs, social gatherings, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. His warmth, humour, and generous heart touched all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

In keeping with Dale’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Family and friends are encouraged to honour him in their own special ways.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dale’s memory may be made to Diabetes Canada.
