We Remember
WALLENBURG, Cornelis “Kees”
August 1, 1934 — March 22, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kees, a devoted husband, loving father, and an extraordinary man whose life was defined by energy, curiosity, and kindess. Kees passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on March 22, 2026, at the age of 91.
Left to hold him dear to their hearts are those he loved most, including his wife of 65 years, Vicki Wallenburg, and their sons Steve and Fred Wallenburg.
Born in Hilversum, Holland, Kees carried a spirit of adventure throughout his life, travelling the world and visiting every continent. Whether near or far, he embraced each experience with enthusiasm and a deep appreciation for life.
Kees was known for his remarkable ability to fix just about anything – there was no challenge he wouldn’t take on with patience, skill, and determination. He was also an avid and accomplished cyclist. At the age of 80, he proudly became the oldest cyclist among 3,500 participants to complete the Whistler Granfondo, a testament to his perserverance and love of the sport.
A dedicated member of his community, Kees volunteered his time in support of the police, always willing to lend a hand and give back.
Above all, Kees was a family man. A steadfast husband and a caring, supportive father, he gave his love generously and without condition. He will be remembered for his stength, his warmth, and the deep love he shared with those closest to him.
Kees was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed.
Family and friends will each honour Kees in their own ways. No formal service will be held.

We look back with great affection on our beloved and larger-than-life ome Kees.
His enthusiasm, humor and wisdom for life were truly infectious. We cherished every moment we were fortunate enough to spend with him.
“Dear Aunt Vicky, Steve and Fred and your families,
What sad news. Words fail me. Despite the distance the moments spent with Uncle Kees and all of you always felt very warm and familiar. He felt like close family and I will miss his kindness, humor, and warmth enormously.
I cherish the beautiful memories we have of the holiday with you in Kelowna, 2009.
I sympathize deeply with you during this difficult time. Wishing you much strength and love from the Netherlands.”
