We Remember

WEBB, Barbara Ann “Barb”
June 21, 1951 — April 8, 2025
On April 8, 2025, Barbara Ann Webb (née Scott) passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Kelowna, BC.
Barb was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Doug; her daughter Carolyn (Chris); son Matt; and grandchildren Nathan, Maya, and Donovan. She is also survived by her brother Robert (Sharon, Nedine, Brandon). Barb was embraced by her husband’s large extended family, including surviving siblings Josie, Amy (Don), Marge, and Bob (Louise). She was loved by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, and their families.
Barb was predeceased by her parents, James and Irene Scott. She was born on June 21, 1951 in St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC, and lived in a little house in Burnaby with her family. She graduated from Notre Dame in 1969, then became a Medical Office Assistant and worked in the field for many years.
She married Doug in 1974. Barb and Doug moved to Kamloops in 1975 and welcomed their daughter in 1977. Barb was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1978, and she always fought back against the challenges of her disease. Barb and Doug welcomed their son in 1981. While raising their family, they lived in Kamloops, Penticton, and Kelowna. Family and friends were very important to Barb, and she was always there to lend a helping hand at any time. She was thrilled to become a grandma and was very proud of her grandchildren.
Barb was very artistic, enjoyed making crafts, was an excellent cook and baker, and was an avid gardener. She was the family historian and was passionate about genealogical research, tracing multiple branches of the family tree back many generations. She also enjoyed keeping track of all new family members. She was quite a detective with historical documents and often helped others research their own family histories.
Barb spent the past year courageously living with cancer. She was grateful for time spent with loved ones and for all the love and support offered to her. She touched many lives with her kindness, her love, and her beautiful spirit. She will be deeply missed.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Barb was such a kind, thoughtful person, and I have so many special memories of her from the summers I spent with my grandma. She made those summers fun — always taking us out for lunch, driving us around, and filling our days with warmth and laughter. She was so generous, even giving me a graduation gift that I’ll always remember. She was truly a light in our lives, and I know my grandma treasured their friendship deeply. She’ll be missed more than words can say.
