We Remember

WOOLCOCK, Philip Allen

December 6, 1942 — March 25, 2026

Born on December 6, 1942, in England, Philip Woolcock passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 25, 2026, in Kelowna, British Columbia, at the age of 83.

His memory will be carried on by his children, Sarah Winkler and son-in-law Colin, Alastair Woolcock and daughter-in-law Bethany, and Nathan Woolcock and daughter-in-law Jennie; grandchildren Caleb and Zachary Winkler, and Natalia, Emma, and Nigel Woolcock; as well as by his brother, Norman Woolcock, and sister-in-law Marion. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Marlene, his brother John and sister Ann.

Philip and Marlene immigrated as newlyweds to Canada in the 1960s and shared a love of travel and exploring the mountains.

After a long career in insurance, Philip enjoyed playing snooker in West Kelowna, BC. He had a deep love of cars, often showcasing them at local car shows, and treasured the drives between Victoria, Denver, and Edmonton to visit his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid Formula One fan.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all staff at Kelowna General Hospital for their outstanding care.

We take comfort knowing that Philip now joins his beloved wife, Marlene, to whom he was married for over 50 years.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers may be sent, or memorial donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH Foundation).
