We Remember

ZORN, Lynda Gaye
October 3, 1943 — July 4, 2025
Lynda Zorn (81) passed away peacefully in hospice on July 4, 2025.
Born on October 3, 1943, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Lynda was the daughter of Eric and Gladys Flint and the sister of Diane, Carolyn, and Norman.
Lynda graduated from Lakehead Teachers College and taught all over the south side of Thunder Bay, including Confederation College. In her 50s, Lynda’s adventurous spirit led her to teach in Ecuador for a year before moving to Victoria, BC for a number of years before finally settling in Kelowna, BC in 2007.
Among her family and wide circle of friends, Lynda was known for her intelligence, vibrance, independence, and outspokenness. A very expressive person, she was passionate about gardening, paddling, cycling, painting, and music. She adored children.
Lynda approached life with energy and conviction. Actively involved in her community, Lynda contributed her time and talents to many organizations, including the Kelowna City Band; BC FORUM; the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign; Bike to Work Week; the Kelowna South-Central Association of Neighbourhoods; the Parkinson’s Superwalk; and Good Vibrations.
Lynda is survived by her two daughters, Lorie (Brian) and Leanne (Steve), as well as her three grandchildren, Katherine, Amanda, and Sebastien – who were continual sources of pride and delight.
The family especially wishes to thank all those people who provided empathy and understanding in Lynda’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation, the Parkinson Society British Columbia, Central Okanagan Hospice, the Canadian Mental Health Association, or the Central Okanagan United Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Leanne, Steve and Seba,
Deepest condolences as you mourn the loss of such a vibrant and lively woman as Lynda. She certainly shared her time and energy widely and will be missed by many. Much love to you all.
Dearest Leanne and family. August and I offer our deepest sympathies and support.
Lynda raised two stunningly strong women and I’m sure she beamed with pride and gratitude as you helped her through this most difficult of times.
I will always remember Lynda enjoying a beer and music by your pool as we discussed novels and world events. She lives on in our memories and hearts.
And to Lynda… I’m going to do it! That crazy book you always urged me to try and finish. I’ll read it in your honor. You know the one 😉
