We Remember
ABERCROMBIE, Ted
—
Passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at around noon. How like Ted to leave early on a Friday! He is survived by his loving wife Ruth; daughter Kathryn Abercrombie (Michael Bordwine) of Toronto; son Cody Abercrombie of Vancouver; brother Jim Abercrombie (Shirley) of Vanderhoof, BC; Kyle Jensen and Sarah Miller (brother and sister to Cody). Predeceased by his parents Gwen and Bert Abercrombie. Ted attended St. Mary’s University from 1966 – 1970 on a football scholarship. He had an extensive career working as an employment counsellor with the Federal Government. Ted was an avid sportsman with a love of team sports as he was very competitive, but more so, he loved to socialize. He loved to play baseball, curling, hockey, golf and cards. Ted also had the pleasure of coaching his son’s soccer team.
A special thanks to Dr. Hart, Dr. Adams and the staff at Brandt Creek Mews for being so amazingly dedicated, loving and caring with all of your efforts to make Ted feel he was part of your family there.

My condolences to the family. A man gone far too soon. Keep throwing those rocks and hitting the balls, Ted! You will be missed. May you find strength and peace where you are!!
We saw one of Ted’s good friends last Friday and learned of Ted’s passing. Unfortunately, we won’t be at the service because we are going to the BC Lions/Saskatchewan Roughriders game on Saturday – Ted would understand. Our sincere condolences to his family and those closest to him. Dennis and Gail Glasscock
A privilege to play fastball with Ted on the Rutland Rovers. A class person and great team mate, lots of good memories and gone too soon, unfortunately won’t be in Kelowna for the service, thinking of you
Our sincerest condolences to Ruth and all of Ted’s family. A sad and much to early loss of a friend and former workmate. I will always remember Ted’s sense of humour and laid back nature, as well as his great intensity and competitive desire on the sporting field.
Regretfully we will not be able to attend the service but will be thinking of you.

Worked with Ted during the good old days for the Feds on Queensway. We also played on Kelowna’s HRDC ball team and he skipped our curling team, we actually won! Oogie Oogie oy oy oy my friend! Followed in his footsteps to Bowman Employment Services after he had gone on sick leave, missed your smile and wit. Condolences Ruth, worked with you as well, memories are precious
It was with great sadness that we learned of Ted’s passing. We were out of the country and unaware of this sad event and consequently we were unable to attend Ted’s memorial service. Paul worked with Ted for many years and Paul and Linda curled with Ted. Our condolences to Ruth and all of Ted’s family. No one could tell a joke quite like Ted – he was a great guy and will be truly missed.
Sorry to hear of Ted’s passing. I worked with Ted at Bowman Employment for a number of years and always enjoyed his sense of humour! My prayers to his family and friends.
