ABETKOFF, John Allan

John Allan Abetkoff passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 24, 2014 in his home in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 47 years. John was born on April 13, 1967 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Patricia and Al Abetkoff. He was the first of three boys. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Abetkoff (Kelowna), daughter, Ashley Abetkoff (Kelowna), and step-daughter, Krystal McGregor (Ontario), their mother, Lauren McGregor (Kelowna), his brothers Terry (Jana, Matthew, Jillian – Kelowna) and Darren (Emily, Ivan, Alan – Taiwan) Abetkoff.
John was predeceased by his father, Al Abetkoff, who passed away August 24, 1996, and grandparents, Helmuth and Alvina Fieseler, and Polly and Alex Abetkoff and cousin, Christine Andres.
John worked at Westwood Fine Cabinetry where he was a Specialty Projects Coordinator. He studied Architectural & Mechanical Drafting at Okanagan University College. John loved cooking and gardening. He was always working on projects. John had a big heart and was a gentle soul. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept 2, 2014 at 1 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with Pastor Lee Loveridge officiating. Interment to follow at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to join the family for a reception at 434 Trumpeter Road following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation.
