ABOUGOUSH, Fatima Anise (née Haymour)
February 26, 1921 — October 18, 2024
With sadness in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our wonderful matriarch, Fatima Anise Abougoush.
Fatima was born in Joub, Jannine, Lebanon on February 26, 1921, and emigrated to Lac la Biche, Alberta in 1952 along with her husband Albert. Their family has resided in Kelowna, BC since 1969.
She was pre-deceased by Albert, her husband of 66 years, in 2005; and her son Adel Albert (Patricia) in 2002. Fatima is survived by her remaining nine children Sohila (Mohamed), Tallel (Joan), Jamel (Peggy), Kamel (Chris), Fay (Kassem), Willaid (Khloud), Gordie (Dorothy), Noel (Jared), and Methal (Fatima); as well as 29 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna Islamic Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 10:30 am, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you are unable to attend in person, please join the family online by Livestream at the time of the service (see below), a recording will be made available to view shortly thereafter.
