We Remember
ACKERT, Betty
—
Betty passed away Sunday November 26, 2017 at the age of 93.
She is survived by her family. Sons: Almer (Barb), Kevin (Cathy), and Randy (Cathy). Grand children: Conan (Melissa), Cody, Sandyl (Justin), Josh (Butsaba), Rachel (Taz). Great grandchildren: Aria, Axson, Natalie and Caleb.
She spent many years raising the family at the farm in Ontario. She followed some of her family to Kelowna thirty years ago and has lived independently since then in Sunrise Village.
She is well known for her butter tarts and pies (which she would not let you cut into more than 4 pieces).
She was a very creative person, great seamstress, artist and craft maker. Betty is now at peace and with her lord.
We would like to thank the staff on 4 East and 3 East for their great care.
No service requested. Family will be having a celebration of life at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dear Almer and Family,
So sorry for your loss.
As you go through this time of grieving, cherish your memories of a life well lived and take comfort in being able to know that she is in the presence of her Lord where there is no more pain or sorrow.
I am so thankful that she shared her butter tart recipe with me, they were the best.
Love, Tim & Dot
